This is a little off topic, but I thought I’d start with the homebase CrossFit community. I am looking for a home for my 4 chickens that are living in Portland right now. I can get them out here to Hood River. With a little effort, I could also get their fancy coop out here. Please tell your friends, it would be great to have them out here, I’ve had friends who really wanted to keep them for a while, but now its time to get them out here. My home is a little too close to the forest that is full of predators. I’d love if someone just has a little room in their yard, to park the chickens. I can come take care of them, and would love to. They are cute.

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.

It’s time to start talking PALEO. You’re getting stronger and leaner, CrossFit is working. If you are still eating a lot of grains/dairy/sugar, then there is room to get better. Cutting this stuff out will be a lot like taking off the E-brake to performance, weight loss, lean muscle development. It may seem like a lot of food to NOT eat. After a month, you will not miss those things, but avoid them so that your day will be a little brighter. I see dairy, gluten, rice, sugar, beans, white potatoes, etc as a stomache waiting to happen and imminent bad performance in the gym. Paleo is a delicious and easy-to-digest way to eat, and if you’ve had my food, you have seen that it can be quite decadent, and very far from a sacrifice. Paleo is not a sacrifice. AT ALL.
I have been strict paleo for about 2 years now, and have the Nutrition Certification issued by CrossFit. If you want to try Paleo with a group to be accountable to, jump on the 30 day Paleo Challenge. More details to follow. Eat the food you were designed to eat. Skip the rest.
